What is Restorative Dentistry?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Restorative dentistry is very much like it sounds. This term\nrefers to dental procedures that help to fix and restore your smile. Any\nprocedure that involves the repair or replacement of a tooth falls under this\numbrella. From fillings and crowns to dentures and dental implants, chances are\nthat you\u2019ve had some sort of restorative dentistry done in the past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry gives\naway its focus in the name. Cosmetic dental procedures usually aren\u2019t necessary\nfor the healthy functioning of your mouth. Rather, they focus on brightening\nand enhancing your smile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most common example of cosmetic\ndentistry<\/a> is teeth whitening. Everybody knows someone who has whitened\ntheir teeth in a single visit to the dentist\u2019s office. Porcelain veneers are\nanother way in which cosmetic dentists can rapidly augment someone\u2019s smile,\nsimply by placing very thin ceramic shells over the teeth, thereby changing\ntheir shape and color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cosmetic dentistry isn\u2019t just about brightening the smile.\nIt is also used to change the shape of teeth. If you have a chipped tooth, a\ncosmetic dentist might use cosmetic bonding to fill in the chip and leave your\ntooth looking whole and natural.
